Cholera is highly contagious yet easily preventable and treatable disease leading to more than 5 million people affected every year and around 120,000 deaths.
(WHO, 2011) .Also called the disease of dirty hands. It is prone to develop anywhere in the world where water supply, sanitation, food safety and hygiene are inadequate.
A seminar on Cholera control was conducted on Thursday, 7th April 2022, mentored by Dr Shirjeel Husain Asst Prof Medicine. The seminar was arranged by health professionals, education services (HPES) of Darulsehat Hospital (DSH) and Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry (LCMD).
The aim of the seminar was a multidisciplinary approach based on prevention, preparedness and response along with an efficient surveillance system, is essential for reducing cholera out breaks, controlling cholera in endemic areas and reducing death.
