Vision Statement

The vision of the Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry is to be a transformational leader in medical & dental education through exemplary education, research and ethics, patient-centered care and community health.

Short Term Strategies

  • To improve the quality of education by introducing reforms and new initiatives in curriculum formulation, textbook and instructional materials development, teacher training, examination and assessment and monitoring and supervision by 2020.
  • Meeting the learning needs of the students which include learning tools (knowledge, skills, values and attitude) by 2020.
  • Prepare continuous and lifelong learners by 2020
  • Institutionalize uniform, valid and reliable examination system by 2020.
  • To strengthen basic education through teacher training, use of information and communication technologies, better coordination, integrated curriculum, improved examination and assessment system and strict monitoring and supervision by 2020.
  • To recruit competent, capable and committed scholar-teachers purely on merit basis at all levels of education by 2020.
  • To standardize and institutionalize teacher training arrangements, accreditation and certification procedures and processes in compliance with the National Standards for Teachers by 2020
  • To review and reform the assessment and examination system to make it compatible with the national and international needs and standards by 2020.
  • To promote regulated and monitored Public-Private Partnership for educational development by 2020.
  • Character building with ethical values relevant to all human beings by 2020.
  • Providing knowledge and skilled training focusing on community needs by 2020.
  • Promote culture of research and innovation by 2020.

Long term strategies

  • Quality assurance of academic programmes by 2025.
  • Establishment, Expansion, Strengthening and Capacity Building of institutions and organizations related to Education and Health by 2025.
  • To produce highly educated and technically skilled manpower as per demand and requirement at national and international levels by 2025
  • To introduce new disciplines, emerging sciences and technologies to equip the students with the latest knowledge, skills and competencies by 2025.
  • To improve and strengthen college community relationship by 2025.
  • To increase the access to community oriented education through expansion of primary health care centers by 2025
  • To enhance the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) for expansion of quality of education by 2025

Mission Statement

The mission of the Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry is to improve the health of individuals and populations and quality of life for all people.


These goals will serve as the basis for efforts to fulfill its mission and achieve its vision for the future in teaching, research, clinical practice and service


  • Develop a globally competitive professional who has attained the competencies in his/her chosen field of specialization
  • Provide outstanding clinical leadership and professional consultation in the provision of medical services and the development of health-care programs.
  • Serve as a resource in all of the above areas at the provincial, national, and, where appropriate, international levels.
  • The College, its faculty, trainees, staff and students will strive for advancement and excellence in all endeavors and reward such efforts.


  • The College will assume a leadership role in issues of importance to the region, the nation and the world.
  • To educate future leaders in health and exercise promotion, health care, and health-related research through high -quality teaching and experiential learning that enhances interdisciplinary understanding and interactions.


The College will ensure diversity of faculty, trainees, staff and students.

Social and Public Health Responsibility

  • The College recognizes that its responsibilities include the disease prevention and health care needs of people. The College will serve as a significant resource for addressing regional, national and international health and public health issues.
  • Establish community-wide collaboratives to leverage resources for the advancement of community health.

  • The College will actively communicate and collaborate wherever this will facilitate fulfillment of its mission and vision.
  • Strengthen interdisciplinary faculty and student outreach activities and partnerships in the local, national, and global communities.

Respect, Ethical Behavior and Professionalism

The College will encourage mutual respect among faculty, trainees, staff, students and patients and demand the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct.


To establish adequate research infra-structure – both hospital and community based- for effective practice of evidence based medicine with the objective of improving the health and well-being of people.

Fiscal Responsibility and Accountability

  • The College will manage its resources in a fiscally responsible and highly accountable manner.
  • Recruit and retain talented and diverse faculty, staff, and students


By the end of the BDS program, students should be able to:

  • Appreciate the importance of each discipline and its relation with other disciplines
  • Manage oral diseases appropriately in collaboration with other specialties
  • Counsel patients regarding prevention of oral diseases
  • Demonstrate professional, ethical and culturally-appropriate behavior
  • Demonstrate appropriate communication skills
  • Deliver high quality PowerPoint presentation
  • Initiate research synopsis based on prescribed protocols
  • Engage in self directed lifelong learning
